Why TVP VOD is blocked outside Poland

TVP VOD owns rights mainly for the Polish market. Because of licensing, some programmes can only be shown to viewers whose IP address is located in Poland. When you connect from abroad, the platform reads your IP and displays a message that the content is not available in your region.

Technically, TVP VOD does not “see” your passport – only your IP, cookies and device fingerprint. That’s why a VPN is so effective: it replaces your visible IP with one from another country, in this case from Poland.
